The Blue Whale Strategy
By Jason Waldron - Wally the Web Guy
Last night to unwind, I decided to pop in a DVD about blue whales.
I figured that if nothing else, the soothing images of large mammals swimming and splashing around in the ocean would help me calm down a bit and send me into dreamland a happy camper.
Well, it did indeed do that, but first I learned a few things.
If you have a 5th grader in the house, you probably already know everything that I'm about to pass on to you. But if you don't, you probably forgot some of these fun facts just like I did.
For instance, did you know that blue whales first were land animals, that then migrated back to the sea?
And did you know that a blue whale could communicate with another whale - via sound - from the Antarctic halfway around the globe up to the Bering Sea?
Just another amazing example of nature showing us the way.
If you're familiar with the Blue Ocean Strategy - it is simple.
Find a new market, and begin to sell to it. A Blue Ocean is free from competitors. Looks like the whales figured that one out already. A few million years ago..
Communicating halfway around the globe? Humans have only been doing it for about a hundred years. Seems whales got the splash on us that time too.
Of course, now that we have fancy things like email and blogging, we're catching up. But they showed us the way for sure.
If you're as smart as a blue whale, and have an untapped market you're ready to communicate with - you'll need a way to do that. Swim over here and check out some details:

P.S. -- Because of our ships and other vessels, whales can't communicate halfway around the world anymore. There's too much noise. Here are more ideas for you to stand out from the crowd: http://www.wallythewebguy.com/articles
